OPERATION FIRE SUPPORT ISRAEL

Operation Fire Support has undertaken 7 month-long fire support missions to Israel in 2019, 2022, 2024 and 2025.

These support missions train and empower local Israeli community emergency teams to deal with wildfires and other emergencies.

We have established relationships with key Communities, Regional Councils, Security Chiefs and the Israel Fire & Rescue Authority, and identified the need for Long-Term Improvements for the following:

TRAIN
Training of Volunteer Emergency Response Teams (ERT) in firefighting and fire prevention,
EQUIP
Equipping ERT’s with Fire Protective Uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for firefighting,
IMPROVE
Improvement to emergency response vehicles and equipment including R&D of new technologies,
EDUCATE
Education and implementation of community wildfire prevention strategies,
PARTNER
Successful partnerships with key authorities, communities and NGOs

OVERARCHING VISION

Operation Fire Support (OFS) proposes a 4-year fulltime mission to Israel, focused on long-term improvement of community resiliency in the face of wildfire threats and to protect lives and property.

HIGH LEVEL ASPECTS OF THE PROGRAM

Training and Hands-on Workshops for Emergency Responders:
Provide training and hands-on workshops for emergency responders in wildfire prevention, suppression, and mitigation.

Increased Awareness for Community Residents:
Educate community residents on Fire Wise principles to increase awareness and preparedness.

Community Risk Assessments:
Conduct community risk assessments to identify areas of high risk and prioritize wildfire hazard reduction efforts.

Wildfire Hazard Reduction:
Implement wildfire hazard reduction measures, including debris removal, pruning, clearing of combustible materials and establishing community layered defensive measures (Fire Breaks/Asset Protection Zones).

R&D and Enhancing Existing Fire Capabilities:
Research and develop new technologies and enhance existing fire capabilities.

PROGRAM TO BEGIN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE 

Our combined efforts will lead to a significant reduction in wildfire threats and improved community resiliency across Israel.
